The Gospel According to Whom?

Gretchen Grimshaw

This class is an expansive exploration of the many presentations and perspectives of the core Gospel message by which Christians are called to live. We will first spend time articulating our own understandings of “the gospel” presented in the New Testament canon. We will explore the similarities and differences in and between the stories and theologies of each of the four canonical Gospels of Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John with special attention to the varying identities and missions of Jesus. We’ll also cover the non-canonical Gospel of Thomas, with peripheral attention paid to a variety of other early Christian Gospel texts, such as the Gospel of Mary and the Gospel of Judas.

Gretchen is the Priest-in-Charge at the Episcopal Parish of St. Paul in Newton Highlands, MA.
